General Information:

Juniper berries are used in many ways, including:
Dried and crushed juniper berries can flavor meat, soups, sauces, stews, beer, and gin.
Juniper berries have many potential health benefits, including: Juniper berries can help reduce healing time for cuts, bruises, and wounds. Juniper berry oil can help balance oily skin, reduce blemishes, and soothe irritated skin conditions like eczema or dermatitis. Juniper berries can help with indigestion, heartburn, and low stomach acidity. Juniper berries can help promote urination and treat urinary tract infections and contain flavonoid antioxidants that can protect the skin and hair. Juniper berries also contain volatile oils that have anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial properties.

However, there is not enough scientific evidence to support most of the uses for juniper berries.  Juniper can also be harmful if you have certain conditions, such as kidney inflammation, diabetes, or blood pressure problems.

      How to use:

      The basic method for dried herbs and flower is, take 2-3 tablespoons of dried herb in a cup or teapot.  Pour hot water over it and cover it with lid for 10-30 minutes.  Hot water is needed to draw out the antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, flavonoids, and volatile oils from the botanicals.  Strain and squeeze out as much as liquid as possible and enjoy!

      You can sweeten your herbal tea with a bit of honey, natural fruit juice, stevia leaves powder and or licorice root powder. 

      You can make ice cubes or pops by freezing tea in ice trays or pop molds.
